This is a subject that deserves much more depth than I'll allow in this post — that is, the treatment of Asian women on dating sites. Somehow, the already problematic notion that women are interchangeable, expendable, effectively non-differentiable objects is made more pronounced amongst the Asian subset — see above for Exhibit A.
Even more concerning is the flippancy with which this man continued the conversation — the complete lack of shame with which he was able to type out "you people," and subsequently explain to me that racism and "truth" are somehow mutually exclusive. As though his own inability to determine which woman he would be speaking to before sending a message was simply an honest mistake due an objective likeness among all Asians ever.
"You had a change to let it go but nope you didn't." It is difficult to let go of the notion that you are so unremarkable as an individual that no delineation is possible between you and about 2 billion other people across the globe.
The worst part, of course, is that this individual is a minority himself.
