Here's the thing — nothing about Two Asians and a Selfie Stick is a set-up.
A few days ago, one reader asked me if I'd considered posing as a man on any of these sites, or perhaps joining Grindr, to fish for more content. I haven't done so, and will not do so because the blog is not meant to be some bizarre form of entrapment.
Perhaps the most disconcerting and disheartening aspect of Two Asians is that all the content is entirely organic. I haven't swiped right on everyone since starting the blog, haven't changed my photographs, haven't done anything differently on these apps than I did before. I'm not "asking" for any of these messages. In fact, the only thing I have edited has been my biography, which now links to this page. And still, these are the messages I receive.
I don't intend to be duplicitous in any way in the creation and execution of these posts. I'm not here to ridicule, to prosecute or to sensationalize. I'm just one woman documenting my (very alarming) experience online, with the help of a few very generous friends and contributors. So no, guys, I'm not setting you up by making you aware of this blog. In fact, I'm just looking for ways to run out of things to post.
